About the Studio
Lake Shala was founded in 2025 with the intention of creating a welcoming, boutique space where everyone feels at home. The word Shala comes from the Sanskrit word meaning home or abode, but it also conveys a sanctuary, a place for learning, and a community gathering space for practice and growth. That intention shapes everything we do here — providing a warm, supportive environment where people can move, explore, and connect.
At Lake Shala, we believe yoga is for every body. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time, adding variety to your fitness routine or looking to deepen your practice - you are welcome here!
Come as you are. Grow at your own pace.
About the Owner
Jenni lives in Orono with her husband, Brandon, and their daughter, Eleanor. She first found yoga in college while looking for a new way to stay active, and what began as a workout quickly became something deeper and more meaningful. Over time, yoga became a reliable way to relieve stress, build strength, and feel more balanced in everyday life — benefits she now brings into her teaching.
Jenni is a RYT-200 Certified Yoga Teacher, Children’s Yoga Teacher (CYT), and Restorative Yoga Specialist, and has taught at studios throughout the Minneapolis area. Her classes are rooted in clarity, ease, and connection, creating space for both quiet moments and lighthearted laughter. Whether working with adults or children, Jenni is passionate about making yoga accessible, supportive, and welcoming for all.
